Complications

Autism may often be associated with some other diseases which also affect the functions of brain:

• Tuberous sclerosis
• Fragile X syndrome
• Mental retardation

There are cases when people suffering from autism may have seizures.
Dealing with such disease as autism is stressful and might result in emotional and social difficulties not only for people with autism but also for caregivers and family members.
